THE ABUTMENT SCREW IS VERY IMPORTANT

The abutment screws play a very important role in the longevity of an implant-abutment connection. The screws brace the abutment with the dental implant. That is why we pay special attention to our screws.

The torque with which the abutment screws are tightened results in a screw pretensioning force. This screw pre-tensioning force must be so great that there is no relative movement between the tensioned parts. On the other hand, the pre-tensioning force of the screw must not become too great, otherwise plastic deformations can occur on the contact surfaces between the abutment screw and the abutment or on the connection between the abutment screw and the screw thread in the dental implant. This deformation occurs when the material parameters are exceeded (yield point). Any loosening of the abutment screw can result in failure of the entire dental implant, abutment, and abutment screw assembly.

DO NOT MIX THE SCREWS

Abutment screws may only be combined with the appropriate abutment from the manufacturer. The "mixing" or the combination of abutment screw and abutment from all manufacturers is not permitted. Even if the abutments are compatible with the dental implant, it does not have to be that the abutment screws can be combined across manufacturers.

ARE THE SCREWS IDENTICAL?

Yes and no. We analyze the products that we want to recreate in detail. This includes, among other things, that we combine the parts digitally. This enables us to analyze the screw fit and the screw dimensions. If we are of the opinion that there is nothing to improve, the abutment screws and the appropriate screw seat take over. But it also happens that we construct our own screw seat in our abutments. That comes z. For example, if the contact surface of the screw head on the abutment shoulder seems too small to us (see picture below left).
